What does the manufactured housing in plant inspection program do?

Our State of Oregon inspectors assure: 

• Manufacturers follow their approved quality assurance manuals

• Manufacturers follow approved designs (plans)

• Part 3282.362-Manufactured Home Procedural and Enforcement Regulations 

• Accordingly, our inspectors not only inspect individual units produced, but assess the effectiveness of the manufacturer's quality assurance system 

What don't State of Oregon inspectors do?

• They don't approve designs of manufactured homes; this is done by a Design Approval Primary Inspection Agency (DAPIA). BCD inspectors assure that manufacturers are following DAPIA approved plans.

• That manufactured homes are built to the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standard
  

• Each home is inspected during some phase of construction
  
  
• That the State of Oregon is periodically audited by a HUD contractor to make sure we are effectively assuring that homes manufactured meet the manufactured housing standards. These are known as HBT audits
