The Building Codes division manages the 1% Training program in such a way as to ensure wise use of public money and effective training on code-related issues. Specifically, the division:
- Identifies training needs in partnership with industry and stakeholders
- Requests experts in the field to submit training proposals
- Evaluates proposals and awards contracts
- Administers training contracts and evaluates training outcomes
- Promotes consistent application of the code through training
- Provides outreach and public education
